Stand Up and live a healthy life

Sitting constantly for longer durations has extremely detrimental effects on your body. Excessive sitting is considered hazardous for your health as it doesn't allow blood circulation across the body. You need to always ensure that you stand up and move around after definite time intervals. Too much sitting doesn't allow you to burn excess fat in your body. This in turn causes accumulation of unneeded fat in various body parts. Extra fat increases your body weight and puts you out of shape. Being plump doesn't mean you have more strength and ability to withstand diseases. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Obesity not only disrupts your physical appearance but also contributes to a lot of health problems.

If you are obese then you need more energy to breathe. Your heart needs to work more than normal to circulate blood to the various vital organs within the body like brain, lungs, liver and kidneys. This increases the overall burden on your heart considerably. Heart is the fulcrum of human body. The functioning of all body parts is directly related to the performance of heart. Excess stress on the heart can lead to several life threatening diseases. Your heart can increase in size and this might cause high blood pressure. High blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack, liver and kidney failure. Poor blood control can also cause diabetes. It is also believed that excessive fat can lead to cancer in both men and women. Fat is the natural storeroom for malignant cells. In women, excess fat causes breast cancer whereas in men prostate cancer is more predominant. Obesity can also lead to multiple sleeping disorders like sleep apnea and insomnia.
Standing up is the most natural and basic form of exercise that can cure you from majority of these problems. By merely standing up, moving around and working you provide your body the much needed activity to improve the flow of blood. Enhanced blood circulation reduces obesity by avoiding excess fat to be deposited in different body parts. This directly negates all health problems associated with obesity. It not only improves your breathing but also reduces the probability of various dreadful diseases like heart attack, cancer, kidney failure and diabetes. This also helps you to get a sound sleep and maintain a healthy physique.

You must always ensure that you don't sit idle at one place for more than an hour. It might happen that your job involves a lot of sedentary work. In today's world, Information technology is one of the leading industries. Majority of IT jobs involve sitting in front of computer throughout the day. This has increased the risk of a lot of diseases. In order to control and minimize this risk, it is very important that software professionals stand up and move around 20-30 steps every hour. Companies have started providing laptops to their employees. The employees can use them effectively by standing and working for some time. This will not only improve their alertness but also help in revitalising their mind and thought process substantially.
Stand up and work to lead a healthy and happy life.
